Colleen has appeared before all levels of Court, including the Federal Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court of Canada.

Colleen obtained her law degree from Osgoode Hall in 1990 and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1992. She joined Doucet McBride LLP in 1995 and became a partner of the firm in 1996. A Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP), Colleen was only the second lawyer in the Ottawa region to achieve the CIP designation.

A member of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association, Colleen is a regular participant and presenter at continuing legal education programs.

She also sits on the board of Vista Centre, a non-profit organization that helps people with acquired brain injuries.

Outside the office, Colleen enjoys traveling, canoe camping and volunteering with a girls’ hockey team.

Laurie’s practice focuses solely on serious personal injury cases and insurance-related litigation, including wrongful death cases, motor vehicle accidents, slip and fall cases and disability insurance claims.

Laurie obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree (Honours History) from the University of Waterloo in 1996 and her a law degree from Queen’s University in 1999. She articled at Doucet McBride LLP and joined the firm as an associate following her call to the Ontario Bar in 2001.

A member of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association’s Board of Directors since 2004, Laurie has also presented papers at the Association’s continuing legal education conferences and authored articles for its publication The Litigator. She is also a member of the Advocates’ Society and an avid proponent of continuing legal education.

Laurie enjoys spending time with her family, attending the theatre and travelling.

John Hollander

John has practised law in Ottawa since 1978, primarily as a civil litigator and trial counsel, with a concentration in personal injury law. He is also a member of Doucet McBride LLP’s Financial Loss Recovery and Estates practice groups.

John has been counsel on hundreds of trials and has appeared frequently in the Ontario Court of Appeal and the Divisional Court of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice.

He trains new lawyers in advocacy techniques and trains professionals outside the field of law on effective communication skills with clients. John is responsible for both the mentoring and training programs within the law firm.

Ian is a founding partner of Doucet McBride LLP and is currently the firm’s managing partner. A litigator with a wide-ranging, results-oriented practice, Ian’s personal injury work includes claims arising from motor vehicle collisions, slip and fall accidents and other negligence claims.

In addition to his personal injury work, Ian represents clients in construction/commercial, professional negligence and employment matters.

Ian obtained a Bachelor of Arts (Economics) from the University of Alberta in 1985 and a law degree from the University of Ottawa in 1991. He was called to the Ontario Bar in 1993.

An active community volunteer, Ian is a Trustee of the County of Carleton Law Association.

Christine La Casse

Christine has been practicing law for more than 15 years. Her practice is devoted almost entirely to personal injury and insurance litigation. She represents injured people and their families in all types of personal injury claims including motor vehicle accidents, wrongful death claims, slip and fall accidents, disability claims, sexual assault claims and historical abuse claims.

Fluently bilingual, Christine argues trials and appeals in English and French.

Born and raised in the National Capital Region, Christine attended the University of Ottawa, where she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Administration in 1991 and her law degree in 1995. She articled with Doucet McBride LLP in 1995, joined the firm as an associate in 1997 after being called to the Bar of Ontario, and became a partner in 2001.

In 2010, Christine was appointed a Deputy Judge of the Ontario Small Claims Court, which deals with claims involving $25,000 or less.

Christine is a member of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association, the Association of French Speaking Jurists of Ontario and the Ontario Deputy Judges Association. She has taught at the Ottawa Bar Admission Course, has been a speaker for the County of Carleton Law Association and a guest lecturer for the University of Ottawa. Christine is a member of the Consulting Committee of the Legal Assistant and Paralegal Programs of the Cité Collégiale.

When not working, Christine is most likely to be found playing with her children.
