Ski Day with SCI Ontario a great success

Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Ontario puts on many great programs for those who have suffered spinal cord injuries and the volunteers who support them. A great example of this was the First Annual SCI Learn to Ski Day held February 28, 2017 at Edelweis Ski resort.  It was a spectacular day on the slopes! There were many eager and enthusiastic participants including experienced sit skiers as well as those trying it for the first time. Numerous volunteers came out from SCI Ontario as well as CADS (Canadian Association for Disabled Skiing) National Capital Division who provided Adaptive Ski instructors.  As sponsors of the event several lawyers and law clerks from Burn Tucker Lachaine also attended.  Friendships were made and magical memories were created. The CADS volunteers were so persuasive two of us law types agreed to try out the sit ski experience. It was truly wonderful to watch expressions change from mild wariness to the thrill of experiencing the joy and freedom of flying down the hill under the careful instruction of highly trained and caring instructors. You can learn more about CADS NCC division at their website
